Ninuku Arts was founded in 2006 by a group of Pitjantjatjara and Ngaanyatjarra artists in a small mud-brick building in Kalka Community, located in the far northwest corner of South Australia. Currently, the art centre supports a rotating roster of forty artists and makers living in both Kalka and Pipalyatjara, which are the most remote communities of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.

Ninuku Arts is excited to launch this new website, and invite you to browse the archives and currently practicing artists who work in this beautiful, incredibly remote landscape. The old works have an immediacy and playfulness, a sense of individuality and a mesmerising kind of power. Gathering them together with the work of current painters, like Cassaria Young-Hogan and those in between, the interweaving synergies between generations - of grids, flowers, loose and tight brushwork, and between families, ideas and iconography is a dynamic perpetual riff.
